South American blastomycosis (Paracoccidioidomycosis)

South American blastomycosis (Paracoccidioidomycosis) is the deep mycosis characterised by chronic progressing flow, ulcerative granulomatous lesions of a skin, mucosas and an internals, mainly easy.

The aetiology - Paracoccidioides (Blastomyces) brasiliensis concerns diphasic mushrooms: in tissues in the form of budding cells (10-50 microns), on nutrient mediums forms a mycelium.

Epidemiology. Meets in rural districts a tropical and subtropical climate. The epidemiology is not studied.

Symptoms and flow. The mouth and nose mucosa is initially amazed, there are ulcers with the granulomatous bottom, slowly enlarged in the dimensions, tongue, vocal chords can be blasted, dens drop out. The skin is involved in process again (process passes from mucosas), regional lymph nodes are amazed, process can grasp lungs (process reminds a pulmonary tuberculosis), an intestine, bones, CNS rarer.

The diagnosis and the differential diagnosis. Epidemiological data (stay in precinctive district), clinical semiology are considered. The diagnosis mushroom detection in granulations (scraping) or in a sputum proves to be true.
